Re: Day light or heat ?

Hi Mark, Steve Thorson lives in Bemidji Mn. and he builds a green house over his plants every fall. Steve grew a  837 last year that on Sept. 1 was at 317 OTT and by Sept. 30 was at 362 OTT.  If the fall temperature in your zone is cold and you have a good one growing then go for it. I think that if the wheather stays consistent through the fall its a big plus and the green house my get you through those few cold days around Sept.13 ( Full Moon )

Subject: Day light or heat ?

My question is does the amount of daylight have any effect on the growth rate of a pumpkin, or is it the amount of heat during the day and night time? What I'm getting around to would it pay to erect a green house around one of my plants in September to maintain a higher over all temp. thanks mark
