I'm heading out to measure pumpkin #1 on the
Cramer729 plant. This one is
fat, white, and seems healthy. The 729 had no other
females that made it
far enough to pollinate. Over on the
Cramer824 plant I cut off the rotting
#1. The 824 #2 never took. Number three is
only a few days old and if she
doesn't take then
the plant gets pulled. Should I let the new #4 try also,
she'll probably open Saturday.
Otherwise I'll be down to one plant with
one fruit.
Ok hold on... at 17 days #1 on the 729
is 41 inches at level circumference.
I'm happy with that. Time for a novice to freak out about all
the things that
can go wrong with fruit. It's on styrofoam and under shade. I'm seeking
captan tomorrow and a shift to high K.
What else?
