Re: How often do you water?


How often you should water will depend on what kind of climate you live in
(temperature, humidity, rainfall etc) and what type of soil you have (clay,
sand, loam).  There is no one "right" answer for everyone.  In my case I
live in an area that is fairly hot, with low humidity and very little
rainfall.  I water my plant every day for an hour.  When I first started
growing pumpkins  I tried the idea of heavy watering every few days, but all
too often I would come home from work on a hot day to find the entire plant
wilted to the ground. It would recover overnight after a good  soaking but I
feel it was too much stress on the plant AND on me. Watering every day works
for me, but could drown someone else's plant under different conditions.  If
watering every 5 days is working for you, keep it that way.
