Washington mini-update

Today the mercury crept above the 80° mark in the P-patch next to the Rio
Verde for just the third time this summer. Maybe it will make the pumpkins
grow faster. The squash grows fast regardless. I know in most of the rest
of the continent growers are sweating, (literally and figuratively) that the
heat will do in their pumpkins. We've had just the opposite problem in
Western Washington after the coolest June and July on record since 1951.
Hopefully some of the cool air that has been our curse is moving East to
give you some relief. We're happy to have some heat here for as long as it
will last.
