Re: Northern MN is HOT
sorry to hear about the stem split steve. Saw them at our county fair, they
were nice. Best of luck with your 780 Eaton.

Been an incredible summer up here in northern Minnesota. Today is the 18th
day of 90 degree weather this summer, which is unheard of up hear normally.
Both my fruit on the Sproule 968 developed splits in stem area last week.
Took them to local fair and they weighed in at 30 pounds over chart. I'm
down to just my Eaton 780 plant now with one fruit on it. Yesterday it hit
84" on day 22, so it may have some potential assuming the elements and such
don't get to it first.I think it may turn to a squash though since it's
showing a cream color at this point. I don't think the Eaton seed has squash
in it's background, but I know the Sproule 968 does. It'll be interesting to
see what color it turns to. In our area, several local growers are reporting
that this is their best year ever. With the weather being this way, I can
see why. Just shows that no matter how much you do for your plants, without
the weather cooperating, it'll never reach full potential. Happy Growing!
