I have little blue moths in my patch too, but they do not seem to bother the pumpkin plants. They seem to enjoy the the damp spots on the ground. In general, you will see butterflies and moths around puddles of water or damp areas.

I believe they are harmless Blue Butterflies that frequent forest field
edges. There hoist plant is not found in the garden. Where do you live?
