RE: Flint Fungicide

Tom, according to Cornell:
1.5-2oz per acre, 12 hrs reentry, Do not apply more than one spray of Flint
or other strobilurin fungicide before alternating with a nonstrobilurin
fungicide. Make a fungicide application every seven to ten days beginning
early in disease development. AQ10 and Nutrol may be more effective when
applications are initiated before disease detection. To obtain adequate
control, fungicide is needed on the undersides of the leaves. This can be
accomplished by using systemic fungicides in combination with contact
fungicides (chlorothalonil, AQ10, mineral oil, monopotassium phosphate,
potassium bicarbonate, sulfur) and maximizing spray coverage. This pathogen
has high potential to develop resistance. Strains resistant to Bayleton and
Benlate or Topsin M have become widespread. Nova, Quadris and Flint have a
high risk for resistance development. The current recommendation for
delaying development of resistance to these materials is to apply Quadris or
Flint in alternation with Nova tank-mixed with a contract fungicide.
Applications should be started early in disease as they are in the same
chemical class and this class should not be used in more than 30% of
fungicide applications.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Subject: Flint Fungicide

List,
I got some Flint Fungicide, and was wondering who was using it, and how much
per gallon of spray they were using. It is 50% trifloxystrobin. It is also
a water dispersible granule. I was also wondering if it was systemic. It
is
not labeled that way, but for some reason I remembered that it was. Any
help
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom Beachy
