Finally, when I see the pictures of your patches, they are weed free.In my case, trick photography. ;-) No, seriously,
What is the secret? You can't be weeding them suckers by hand all through the season can you?
my patch has been very weedy this year. At times it
has gotten away from me. I tend to just pull them.
I know (I've heard, and don't necessarily dispute)
that they can upset the roots, but I look at it as a
chance to provide some aeration to the soil.
Also, in my case in early July there aren't many
weeds, but by the end of July you're up to your
waste in them unless you do something about it. I'd
have a weed canopy hovering over the pumpkin leaf
canopy.
If anyone does find the secret to weed free soil,
I would also like to know. ;-)
