RE: Tomatoes

Marv, 30 days rings a bell, but forgot if that's blossom to ripe fruit or developing fruit to ripe fruit. I didn't get most of mine in the ground til the first week of June here in Buffalo and my first ripe tomato was 7/31, albeit a cherry brandywine. I have been getting ripe beefsteak-size heirlooms the last couple weeks but only a couple dozen over that timespan off 35+ large-style fruit plants. I'm assuming you are either questioning your plants' output or you are wondering if your blossoms will be tomatoes before the first frost. Type/size & conditions/growing methods can be factors, too, plus, you can top off your plants to speed up ripening of your fruits instead of growing more green vine. If all else fails, there's always that $15 bottle of Ethephon...

Subject: Tomatoes

Does anyone know how long it takes from the time you see a blossum on a tomato plant until you get a ripe tomato? Just wondering and hoping maybe one pumpkin person might know something about tomatoes.
