The Season That Never Was
Are there big ones out there?? I'm sure there is but I can't
find any in my Yin and YanK patch. I was supposed to take this
year off - and it looks like I did.
My 1230 Daletas (Baby Beluga) went double on the main vine...
so I cut it off. The plant is slow growing and cantankerous.
There is a little pup way out on a secondary - I doubt this one
will ever find the deep water she needs to get big.
My 831 Zunino (Butterball) has no potential prospects on the
main vine either since I yanked the prime fruit because of a
bad bottom. I decided since I can't grow anything competitive
on this huge plant that I'd grow lots of small pretty ones. I
now have at least a dozen set around the plant. Maybe they'll
let me weigh them all and combine the weights....
This is the Bay Area report - I shoulda did tomatoes...
