Subject: Question

Hello Everyone

I have another question. Is it possible that dramatic temperature
changes can fool the pumpkin into thinking its time to quit growing? I
know with some kinds of plants if you want them to mature you can change
the amount of light they get and they start to winter sooner. Well with
my pumpkins I was having a gang buster year and now that the weather has
cooled down it seems the pumpkins are slowing down. The same thing
happened last year. I had a pumpkin that was averaging 17 lbs a day and
another that is around 7lbs a day. The 17 pound a day pumpkin is now
about 4.5 lbs a day and the other is still around 7 lbs a day. The first
pumpkin was 100" circumference at 30 days with an OTT of 225.5 and I was
excited about its growth rate now it seems to have quit growing. I
haven't changed anything except the weather. So could the temperature
change have caused this sudden stop in growth and is there any thing I
can do to kick start the growth again?? Sorry to ramble

Dennis
