Hi David, and list.
I was wondering what tables/equations you used to come up with your weight
estimates. I am updating my spreadsheet from a version I created way back
in 1998. I found Len Stellpflug's table and David Martin's corresponding
equations on www.backyardgardener.com which were created with data to the
end of 2001. Those were the ones I was going to use. I compared your OTT
measurements/weight estimates to those tables and found some differences.
Are there newer equations out there since 2001? or are Len's still the
"standard" ones to use - especially to compare results with other growers?
PS Once I get the spreadsheet completed I would be happy to share it with
anyone who's interested. It will be very comprehensive when it is done.
It includes lots of growth charts and all kinds of useful ways to compare
fruits and perhaps help in deciding which pumpkins to keep till the end of
the season.
