Wool over the eyes

List,
Only faithful Bill Garvey responded to my question about covering your
pumpkin with wool, and he didn't know. It seems to me that wool will gather
moisture about it and rot the fruit, but I don't know. Has anyone tried it?

Question 2 on the same subject: Some growers keep their fruit covered day
and night, even in hot places in hot weather.
I am curious to hear the pros and cons of this practice.

Question 3, for David: When you shade your plants, do you shade as much of
the plant as possible or just the new growth?
Do you shade all the time or only in serious heat?

Thanks!
David & Kathie
