SE MN Bhaskaran's Patch, August Update: No big ones this year! Frost 8/21!


Howdy!
Every year, I feel I have learned more and think it will be easy to break the 
1000lb mark, but only to have Mother Nature, say No! :-)   She gave us a lot 
of rain and no bad storms here in SE MN, but she forgot one thing...HEAT!!!!  
This could be the coldest August in 118 years!  
I even re-started my soil heaters as we had weeks of sub-70 days and 40s 
night...plus one night (8/21) hit 28-30 degrees and took out the bottom part of 
the patch.
I started with 10 plants and a pumpkin on each main vine 8-16ft out...now 
down to 6....

#1.  793.5 Bhaskaran -  Day 68  - 336"    OTT  = 777lbs    Up  32lbs for the 
week.(frost)
#2.  300 Patrick         -  Day 70  - 336"    OTT  = 777lbs    Up 57lbs for 
the week. 
#3.  501.5 Beachy     -  Day 66  - 334"    OTT  = 763lbs    Up  59lbs for the 
week.
#4. 1092 Daigle         -  Day 64  - 330"    OTT =  736lbs    Up  100lbs  for 
the week.
#5.  808 Beachy        -  Day 70  - 329"    OTT  = 730lbs    Up  20lbs for 
the week.(frost)
#6. 235 Beachy        -   Day 53  - 278"    OTT = 444lbs     Up  58lbs for 
the week.
