Mike some growers cut and transport the pumpkin the day of the weigh off while others the day before. Just remember a 1000 lbs pumpkin can lose up to 20 lbs in 2 weeks if not kept hydrated. Keeping them hydrated with wet cloths can rot the pumpkin very quickly so be careful.

If and when it's time to move the pumpkin to a weigh off or the countyfair, how do I get it there? Cross your arms and do the genie blink. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Pumpkin-growing archives: http://www.hort.net/lists/pumpkins/ To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PUMPKINS
