RE: white spots on leaves

Dave, welcome to the world of Powdery Mildew! It's best treated by spraying
before it ever shows up, usually with Daconil or Ortho Garden Disease
Control (both have active ingredient Chlorothalonil @ 29.6%) and other
fungicides. Spraying now will slow it down but it inevitably is here to
stay. Also try to spray the underside of the leaves, this is very important,
since it and Downy Mildew both often start on the underside and by the time
we growers see it on the top it's too late. Daconil was available at
Wal-Mart for $10.93 for a pint.

There are other fungicides available just as good or sometimes even better
but the ones most readily available & affordable to home gardeners are
mentioned above. Sometimes a rotation plan of a fungicide with
chlorothalonil 1 week and a fungicide with a different ingredient the next
week is even more effective. Try next year to spray early, as soon as you
put the plants out, and weekly from then on out. I'd start spraying your
AG's immediately & weekly.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Subject: white spots on leaves

Hi all!
Im getting white "moldy" spots on my leaves?? Should I be concerned? This
is
only happening on my "Howden" jack-o-lantern pumpkin leaves. Any advice
would
be very appreciated.
