SE MN Pumpkin Update

May, June, and July have been warm and sunny in Southern Minnesota this year. This allowed the pumpkin plants to grow and for me to complete most of my pollination before July 1. I pollinated more female pumpkins in June this year than all pervious years combined. The only problem is that we have not had any rain in July and this has meant a lot of watering. The pumpkin plants are listed below with their pumpkin weights in pounds and the number of days since pollination in parenthesis as of July 31.

1) 1040 Eaton 06 -- 345 (29 days), 83 (19 days)
2) 1229 Marsh 06 -- 298 (33 days), 243 (32 days)
3) 843 Heyne 05 -- 307 (33 days), 57 (20 days)
4) 1006 (uow) Heyne 05 -- 467 (32 days), 182 (28 days)
5) 649 Heyne 06 -- 320 (31 days), 177 (29 days)
6) 1086 Holland 06 -- 357 (31 days), 235 (31 days)
7) 1068 Bhaskaran 06 -- 386 (31 days)

This is my best overall start. Hopefully, it will continue through August and September.
