Raise the organic matter with aged manure & maple leaves. The pH shouldn't
move. If the addition of sulfur brings the pH down you can counter it with
calcitic lime. Pumpkins crave Calcium so there is little danger in having
too much Ca. at 1348 ppm you have room for more.
Forget side dressing. Amend the soil this fall then retest in early spring
to confirm.

I just got back the results from the first soil test I've ever done on my
patch. Any recommendations would be appreciated. My soil has never been
amended. I believe it is classified as a sandy loam. I am especially curious
how I can add sulfur (which is low) and peat (for moisture retention)
without dropping my pH too much.
