Have you tried dripping candle wax in the cracks?

Subject: Ready for Surgery for Stem Rot
Bought Daconil AND chlorothalonil. Had a fan going for 12 hours today
under
shade canopy which helped dry out most of damp area on stem. Minor
cutting,
drying and application of one or both fungicides should save the 500
pounder.
My plan B's stem is in worse shape, requires major surgery, and may not
make
it. Any comments or suggestions on using both fungicides after the
surgery?
Remember--this is only my second year growing biggies, and I don't want to
repeat last year's failure to reach the weigh-offs. Steve M.
