I assume you probably have KCL or Muriate of Potash 0-0-60. As you can
see by the numbers, it is very strong and has a high salt index...meaning
ability to burn. If you have access to a soil test that can turn your
results around quickly, that is the best. It should print out in how many pounds
per thousand square feet. If you don't have a test lab and want to wing it,
which I don't recommend, you could probably put on 2 or 3 pounds on 1,000
square feet. Hopefully the native soils in your area are not naturally high
in Potash. I would spend a little time and get a complete soil test...you
may be low on other things and you could make a nice mid course correction.

This is my second year growing pumpkins here in hot and humid southern

I didn't use potassiuma t all last year, this year I have access to pure
potassium granules. None of the farmers here are sure how or how much to
use.
Can anybody give me some advice? Btw, my local weigh-off is AUGUST 21, the
national weigh-off is in the middle of Sept.
Thanks, Jeff Potter
