Thank you to all who broke me out of cyberspace. It is rather funny, but
I have been on the recieving end of this mailing list for a long time but
my mail was going to the wrong address.
I am not the Chris Andersen from Morago, Ca. but yet another pumpkin head
from Seattle. I probably have 3months of ?'s to ask but I'll start with
just a few. I am growing just one AG this year, and it seems to be doing
great, although I'm still pollinating (a little behind)
My biggest problem is always powdery mildew, and the little black aphids
that take residence on the underside of leaves, and eventually destroy the
leaf. Can anyone recommend what to do about both? I have heard that this
type of mildew is caused from dry soil, I would have thought the opposite.
I have been using Sevin on the leaves for the aphids with good result, but
I am applying it from a spice jar. how do you apply a dust pesticide?
I just love this mailing list. You pumpkin people are GREAT!!
Thanks,
Chris Andersen
Seattle
P.S. Shellie,
How can I find out about the
PNW growers group?
