Keep working. Hand pollinate as a helper to the bees. It can't hurt. Don't do much pruning until you start to see some vines coming on your secondary vines. The first vine that comes is the main or primary vine. Off that will come secondary vines. Off those will come tertiary vines. Some growers cut off all tertiary vines. Some limit secondary vines to 8 to 10 feet. Some limit the primary vine to no less than 10 feet after any pumpkin set on the primary vine and if no pumpkin on the primary vine then maybe 20 to 30 feet overall. This is not written in stone. There is controversy. Mine is one opinion of many and I could later change my mind as I get smarter. Marvin Altoona PA
