Eggs

While checking my jack O Lantern plants this morning I discovered some
insect eggs on the underside of two leaves. The eggs were in clusters of
12-15 and are a metallic brown or copper color. I removed the eggs and
applied a coating of liquid sevin to all my plants as a safeguard. Does
anyone know what insect might have left these eggs ? I have not had any
problem with borers or cuke beetles to this point.
