Vine Pressure

I have recently read some growers are having problems with their pumpkin
stems pulling up on their vine. My problem is oppisite of this, my pumpkin
is applying pressure down on the stem/vine, pressing the vine to the
ground. I have cut the nearest tap roots and the pumpkin is as close to 90
degrees as I can get it. Has anyone had a similar problem? Can anyone give
me any advice ?
