Re: growing well-shaped pumpkins

Dan,
I have a vegetable shaper that was given to me....not sure where it came
from. It is designed for a sugar pumpkin and is about one quarter the size of
the full grown fruit. Tremendous pressure is built up....it must have 15 or
20 lock bolts holding the two halves together. You leave it on until it
totally fills the mold, then it can be taken off and the shape remains. For
an Atlantic Giant, you would need a very thick and strong container. I would
bet 2 feet on a side would be about right. The mold had small pin holes in it
to let out moisture and it had to be kept shaded.
