 Please help...

I seem to have tiny spiders attacking my vines, eating the vines mainly at
the
joints. My brother's plant next door is having the same problem. The damage
very closely resembles vine borer damage. Could the spiders be doing this or
is it more likely that vine borers are at work here and the spiders just came
along later to take advantage? If so, does anyone know a good pesticide for
spiders? If anyone has had a spider problem in the past, please let me know,
even if you cannot provide me any suggestions as to what to use on them. If
you believe this is a borer problem, please could someone let me know how to
deal with borers in the vine?

Probably not spiders but baby Squash Bugs, use Pyrethins & Rotenone spray
while they are still small.
