Now Pumpkin Flower. It may be true that those of us who are running a
bit late could be dispirited by a "deadline." But you must not be too
hard on yourself. If we never learned from experience, we would never
improve. Guidelines, rules of thumb,
where-were-we-last-year-on-this-date?, these help us gauge our progress.
Pattern recognition, dear heart... it's the stuff of intelligence.
The rest of us need simply to gauge our own individual situations and
goals. And those ‘guidelines' can help us all to evaluate where we are
and what we must/can do to accomplish our best.
I would like to share with the group a poem, which I enjoy very much,
that Ms. PumpkinFlower crafted for me and my pumpkins.
Beth
THE BLESSING AND THE CURSE
for Beth by Pumpkin Flower
I've always had gardens and plants
Two green thumbs and dirt on pants
But nothing yet has grabbed me ever
By the throat like this endeavor
With faithful husband hauling soil
And hour after hours toil
I dream about the orange fruit
A giant pumpkin my pursuit
With panty hose on blossoms flying
And chemicals and toxins vying
To fight back critters bugs and mold
And keep all three from taking hold
Yes it's a blessing and a curse
And when you think it can't get worse
The temperatures climb off the scales
And leaves me pacing biting nails
Replace the ice and keep them cool
For several days that's pumpkin rule
And pray the little babies take
I still have time for heavens sake
