I'm almost afraid to jinx myself by responding to the borer question, but,we
haven't had any. Once our garden soil warmed this past spring, Hubby and I
sprayed down both pumpkin patches(and my flower garden too) with beneficial
nemitodes(they sell em at Agway for lawn pests) and haven't seen a borer
since.
3 years ago when we started out, we had tons of borers, since we started
treating,all gone.
