Welcome! Most all of us here are hooked on trying to grow big pumpkins.
sounds like you want to be hooked too.  I think Hawaii would be a great
place to grow them.  AG- stands for Atlantic Giant - that is the variety
of pumpkin that produces the big ones. 
I hope you have a large garden space - each plant should ideally have a
space
of about 30ftx40ft which is 1200 sq. ft. and to grow them right the
plants require lots of care.  
Carving a big pumpkin is quite difficult since the pumpkin can be a foot
thick !   still some people who are more like sculptures can do a good
job carving them.  Other just paint them- if you know someone who can
paint then they can paint a nice face or something else on your pumpkin.
these pumpkins are not quite as "cute" and nicely shaped as a typical
Halloween pumpkin - cuteness doesn't count in this game- size does. If
you want nice big Halloween type pumpkins - I would suggest growing the
prizewinner or big max  varieties.  But if you want to grow big ones
AG's are the way to go. I would read up on how to grow AG's before just
jumping in.  you can read lots of valuable information on this web page:

of the page-  I would also order the book "WORLD CLASS GIANT PUMPKINS

you can buy some seeds. ( see "SEED SOURCE" )

     im new in here and all the stories that i read about your giant
pumpkins are
     freaking me out i live in hawaii and every year i grow a few
pumpkins for my
     children to make jack-o-lanterns and our largest one is about 20
pounds so
     far.....and now im reading that a pumpkin 1000 lbs everyone going
try for
     grow!  i wonder if a 1000 pound pumpkin could grow in hawaii too?
how could i
     get some 1000 pound pumpkin seeds? how do u ever carve a 1000 pound

     lantern? i wonder if someone could please send me some 1000 pound
pumpkin
