Dan,
   Muriate of potash (0-0- 60) can be scattered on the ground under the
leaves. Try not to get it on the leaves. As you water, it will slowly dissolve
and disappear. I don't think there are volatility problems with potash , so it
can remain on the surface until it is washed in. Some forms of nitrogen must
be incorporated or you will lose some.
