Eaton 664

As an experiment this year I prepared a 8X8 plot of dirt in my back yard in
addition to my main patch. My intentions were to let the plant grow wild,
feed heavy, foliar heavy and just see what happend. In it I planted a Eaton
664 from '97. With little expectations I have been quite surprised with the
results. The plant is a modest two hundred square ft, growing wild across my
lawn, no vines are burried, the fruit was pollinated a week later than my
other two pumpkins in my main patch, respective plant size 1,000 sq ft. and
1,100 sq ft. Short of time I have hardly fertilized it and only foliar fed
it once this season. Amazingly the pumpkin on this plant is the same size as
my two largest pumpkins on 1,000/1,100 sq ft. plants. The fruit is a
beatiful shape & color with no stem problems. Go figure but this is
definatly one seed I am putting in my main patch next year!!!
