Pumpkineers,
My weekly update is up on the web page, but no pictures this week , as
my buddie with the digital camera was not available tonite. Maybe soon.
Story is on the garden page, so go to my website below, and click on the
garden page. Go to the August 26th write up. Some great pics from the
19th of last week, if you havent seen them yet.
My measurements are as follows... 143.5/86.5/92.5 = 322.5 inches for a
total of 667 pounds according to Bob's chart(*thanks Bob). I had one
night(yesterday) where I got no growth at all, and was scared, but after
a big dose of 20-20-20 last night, the plant responded, by adding 25
pounds and 4.5 inches tonite. I guess I am going to push the fertilizer
envelope to the max, especially if there is any possible chance of a
world record, which I am assuming is 963 pounds set last november.
I have been following the Lyons record squash from 1994 and thier 900
pounder they had on the following page..
http://www.athenet.net/~dang/OPP/lyons/index.html
They included thier daily OTT measurements from beginnign to end, and as
of today, they were at 312, so I am still ahead of the 900 pound pace. I
started the muriate of potash applications also, and want the list
people to know, that I am putting it down right into the soil, and
raking and watering it in from there. I am careful to not let any touch
the plant or leaves, as it would burn them.
Sign the guest(dream) book , if you stop by..Cya next week..
