Sorry to read about the ones that blew up.  Good thing is now you have
room for those huge Watermelons.  Keep them shaded and cool.  I've read
that heat and direct sun makes them mature early.  I have a few that seem
to be growing about 1" a day and are up in the 30's stem to blossom. 
Does anybody know how to estimate the weight of these green giants?
