Circumference drop

Happy Sunday to all,

Can I read anything into the fact that my circumference increase
measurements are holding at about 1" per day (125" today) whereas my side to
side, or more consistently my stem to blossom measurements, are gaining 2"+-
each day. Earlier in the season it was circumference that was the bigger
daily gainer.

Thoughts / observations / comments??

Also looking at Al Eaton's 9 year averages for circumference for fruit set
on July 3 it indicates he would be at 130" tomorrow. My fruit was set July
21 and should be at 126" tomorrow. (based on 1" daily gain) This would
indicate one of three things:

1) Late sets have a tendency to catch up with early sets

2) My fruit should beat Al's averages.

3) Averages mean very little except to express, well, averages. <g>

Thoughts????

Lastly, based on Al's 9 year average fruit chart, and the 150 lb. average
gain for September I think he expressed, can I conclude that the 9 year
average fruit has been 659 lbs.? If this is so all I can say is "WOW!".

Thanks.

Mike in Beaverton
