Growers,
Yesterday I collected the seeds from a small (29 lb.) pumpkin I
culled a little while back. They look fine to me, in fact as good
as the seeds of the parent plant. I culled this one to allow room
for my biggie that ripped itself off the vine last week. So, here's
the question:
1. Are these seeds mature enough to save?
This would have also been a big pumpkin because it's brother
sure was on the way to being a big one (it ripped at 165 lbs.).
I take it that even though the pumpkin was small, the genetics
are already in place as far as the seeds are concerned.
Comments please. I'm not gonna waste my time saving
something that's not gonna be worth it.
