Pennsy Poetry
Early March, acquired some seed,
A few from Andersen, best indeed.
Decided on one, his eight fifteen,
loved the genetics, best I've seen.
So I grew that seed, until the patch filled up,
along with another seed, from Joel from Pullyup.
Joel's seed grew, but something went wrong,
The pumpkins ripened, before too long.
Down to one plant, I thought I was through,
Especially when, it was green I knew.
My year long passion, had turned from pumpkin to squash,
After weeks of counseling, I decided to watch.
That little green monster , well it grew and grew!
After a few months, it weighed 702!
With less than a month, left in the season,
One things for sure, this happened for a reason.
My 815 may be green as can be,
but win or lose, Im proud as can be.
So next time I watch , the weigh-offs begin,
Ill turn to my neighbor, and say with a grin.
While they are all different, by the color of skin,
In realistic terms, their genetics are kin.
So the only real difference, that I have seen,
A Pumpkin is Orange, and a Squash is Green.
