Alan-thanks for the reply.I just got back from vacation today(Bermuda) so I
don't know how big or how well the plant is doing now,but here's the story up
until last week: We planted the Reynolds cross 815x800....was slower than
others planted at same time..lost patch war to the 1010macKenzie but kept it
as a small plant,severly cut back.The plant set fruit early and
often...posssibly due to stress...at its largest after cutting back it
probably had 80 leaves.....now it has 36 leaves as most sides are cut back
severely. Set the only remaining pumpkin on 6-18.....
day
15=43c,day19=135ott,d22=150ott,d26=171.5ott,d29=174.75ott-fairly deep
concentric splits in pumpkin...like an equator line ,are occurring so I
stopped all watering for it to heal,which seems to have caused the
slowdown.....d33=197ott,cut back plant hard-d35203.5ott(36 leaves). Will be
measuring and picturetaking tomorrow....will post you the
results...............Glenn A.
