The ribs on mine have only gotten deeper, and it appears to be maturing
early (its just under 300 lbs.) Where can you buy eight? I've picked out
almost 30 borer grubs this year on 4 plants. I never want to go through
this again.

>I'm the person that had the pumpkin with the early deep ribs. I don't know
who posted the fact that as the pumpkin matures the ribs smooth out, but
that person was correct. Having been away on vacation I could hardly
recognize the pumpkin when I got back home. The ribs smoothed out and it now
looks normal. Also, whomever posted the information on using Eight for
protection against Vine Borers, I owe you my patch this year. I sprinkled
the powder along the vine and sprayed the leaves and not one Vine Borer. A
fellow grower in the quad lake area lost all four of his plants and I lost
my butternut squash (200 yards south of my AG) to SVB. I noticed slugs last
night, so it's time for another battle.
