OK - now can someone explain to me how a giant pumpkin can grow STEM DOWN?!

My 602 last year was stem down and it did not have any stem stress. Looks
like the weight of the Pumpkin pushes the vine into the ground and pulls it
in from both sides so it doesn't pull on the stem. The stem was recessed
into the Pumpkin.
