orange October?

Greetings all.

I realize that I am REALLY, REALLY late asking this, but go to the experts
if you've got a question.

I have an open field next to my house that I would love to see covered in
orange come Halloween.  I understand that I have no change of growing the
'great pumpkin', I'm only looking to get some natural holiday decorations
going.  So, is there any chance of me planting now to get something by the
end of October?  I'm only asking because I've read in a few places the
pumpkins are 60 day-ers and was hoping I could do this.
