what's causing the stress? bad angle, or short stem? or both?
scott
It has been a cool, wet, cloudy summer - precipitation for the year is 60%
above normal - temperatures in August have averaged a low of 59 degrees and
a high of 76. I'm growing a Pacific Northwest Pumpkin - the Stephenson 819
which seem to like the cool, cloudy weather - it only started taking off
with the recent wet weather. I'm growing it in about 300 square feet.
Today is its' 1 month birthday --> 97" - 62.5" - 62" --> estimated weight
of 236 pounds. This is my second year and I am 200 pounds ahead of last
years pace. Thanks to all who patiently have answered my questions and
especially to Mike for the seed. My only real concern at the moment is
stem
stress - any advice on dealing with this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin
