Fingers Crossed in Winnipeg

I rarely write in to this group but I try to read it regularly.  I hope this doesn't jinx me because for the last 4 years my AG's have been wiped out by hail, drought, disease, and yes, vandals.  This year things have been going reasonable well.  I now have a 150lb (personal best) on one vine and two to three smaller ones on my other plant and a couple of these are growing faster than anything I have seen.  My plants are huge and have taken over the whole garden, some of the leaves are 1.5 feet across and 3-4 tall! Yesterday I finally had good luck instead of bad.  Things were getting very dry in the garden and I was starting to think that this year will come to an early end (I have to truck water in and it takes a lot of time and effort) but a strong storm came through with hail and heavy rain.  The hail missed the garden and we received 45mm of rain (almost 2 inches).   Combine this with sunshine and 30C days (86F) forecast right through the weekend and maybe, just maybe I will see some of the growth rates I read and dream about in this group.
