When people subscribe they are sent an info file. Part of the file
says:

   Archives:

All messages sent to this list will be archived so that they may be
accessed at a later date. They are available at

      http://www.mallorn.com/lists/pumpkins/

By posting a message to this list, you agree to give Mallorn permission
to archive your messages in a publically visible manner. You do,
however, retain all rights to whatever copyrights you may hold.

How do people feel about this? I'd personally rather not clutter
the body of messages with extraneous text -- netiquette dictates
that signatures shouldn't exceed 3 lines, and with people adding
their own .sigs and their free email providers adding another
one it could make the fluff at the end longer than the message
   itself.

It's also a killer on the search engine -- those .sigs get indexed
into the database each time that they appear.

I'd rather use the methods described in RFC 2369 by adding a

      List-Archive: <http://www.mallorn.com/lists/pumpkins/> (Web Archive)

header to each message instead. In fact, I just did, so we'll see
   how things work. :)
