Re: The List, recent personal attacks, etc.

Thanks for all who supported me in the recent personal attacks from members
of this list. I've tried to do all I can for giant pumpkin growing including
supplying the best seed that I could over the years. Its true that most of
todays top pumpkins go back to some of our best(at the time). Greg, I recall
bending over backwards for you also when you couldn't get to first base!

Regarding the LIST - Dan Gardener called me in early 1995 wanting to start a
webpage for the WPC. It ended up being for all giant pumpkin matters
including other groups and the mailing list - I see one e-mail dated 96-01-12
referring to the "new emailing list". That's some early history about this
medium - there is a lot more.

I'm pleased to be able to say that this year will be my 20th promoting giant
pumpkins. Many growers and weigh-off sites have come and gone since. Many
are still near the top. I'm still here and still doing the lions share for
the sport/hobby. No, its not what I had hoped it would be but that is not
due to me short falls. In the late "80's it was close to being great. I'll
refer you to the "forward" to How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins, II.
