The air thing i don't know about, but he seedlings being green have an
explantion. They use the food stored in their cotyledons to grow if the
first stages of growth. They get some minerals and stuff from the pumpkin
itself through the roots. Since there is no light, it has to be the food
stored in the cotyledons. Light helps the seedlings know which direction to
grow and which direction the root should go. They don't need the light right
away to grow. this makes sense to me, i hope that is right
