i use a mix 1/4 pete moss 1/4 vermiculite 1/4 perlite and 1/4 sterile
potting soil a heating pad that can be found in garden centers or seed
catalogs helps keep that soil mix at 70 plus degrees for best results if
you are handy with tools you can make a homemade version that uses
household lihgtbulbs make sure you leave enough room between the bulb
and any flamable material you'll have to try different watt bulbs until
you find the right size we have a friend who
goes out to the garden and digs a few shovels of dirt puts it in the
oven to sterilize it and starts his plants with good results
i would look back to last year to see if you had problems with damping
off or poor germination rates for some reason old seed,too hot ,wet ,dry
and try to correct yhose problems in most cases of poor germination is
caused by soil that is too wet and cold
