Mike,

I had this belief even before I first started talking about the first 1,000
lber back in 1986! Also, I still have some early seed from '83-'84 that I
think will germinate if anyone wants to experiment. Back in my college days
of genetics, I recall that genetics had a good portion to do with potential
and environmental conditions were the areas where we could see the most
response given a situation of advanced breeding like with modern bovines,
etc... In dairy cattle for milk production about 80%/20%. I think AG's are
being pushed on both ends. Many late season splits will attest to this. And
genetically how do we stop that! We've just got to keep on. If you get a
chance please read the "Foreword" to Don Langevin's How To Grow World Class
Giant Pumpkins again. I still want to share some of my findings from the
January 2000 trip to China and a little experiment I ran this past season
regarding it. When you can mix a little foresight with some common sense and
5k year old ideas it may generate some good theory! I'd like to contribute
as I've always done.
