Hi Rocky,
I would like to swap some seeds with you. Would you send me some of
yours if I send you a bubble pack with seeds from the three pumpkins I had
over 500 lbs. this year? If you would send me your snail mail and I'll send
off a bubble pack with some seeds. Mine are:
506 Michalec 00 UOW (563 Geert 95 X 865 Mettler 98)
526.5 Michalec 00 (835 McIntyre 98 X 865 Mettler 98)
576 Michalec 00 (427 Michalec 99 X 563 Geerts 95)
The 506 was weighed at a local feed store. It developed a blossom
split in late September at the time of our first frosts. I recovered only
19 seeds from it and am only offering a couple of those to a select few
growers. The 526.5 was late pollinated 7-18 on a plant that was a direct
seeded backup to a backup to a backup to a backup that failed to germinate.
My 906.5 Lloyd failed, I started a 730 Stellpflug that failed, I started a
secone 730 that failed, I started a 729 Bobier that was a dog and I then
direct seeded the 835 around May 20th. Once it was up I culled the 729 and
let it go from there. I kept the plant small as the 427 was up and crowding
its area. The 576 came off the 427 and that plant also produced a 419.5
that I took to the Puyallup fair in September. The 419.5 is the same cross
as the 576 and the two had only a 1" difference in OTT measurements when I
harvested it for the fair on
September 8th. If you would like a few of those to share I could
throw them in as well.
I like the cross you made bringing the 935 Lloyd back into the 815
Checkon. Two proven productive lines that may even get better. Thinking of
the discussions on the list about the genetics, I looked at the Willemse
line that has been selfed for so many generations, and would like to get
some of those seeds. Do you have an email of snail mail address for Harry?
Anyway I would like to get your mailing address and send an evelope off to
you. Have a good Christmas.
