Hello All,
I have received the results of this years soil test. As in the past, I'm looking for a few "Experts" to pick there brains. It seems that some interpretations differ from  others. I'm trying to get a "General" opinion of what people think is correct for AG's. If your interested, please contact me in PRIVATE so that the list isn't over burdened.

Ethan and others.

Years ago I did a little study on soils tests.  Tallked with alot of soil  specialist  and the bottom line is it is not that simple.... dang it!!...........the problem is that all labs do not use the same extraction methods to come up with the numbers.  Plus there are different philosophies of what is best.  I thought that it was an exact science but found out it is not really.  We can't really come up with the correct recipe for the soil from the top pumpkins.  Why because of the above stated but also the test reveal what is relative.  Not the exact actual..........as it hard to test what is going to be available so many variables play a part. such as aeration , soil temp, microflora.....but what a test is good for is to index what in the soil.....to find deficiencies ...... what I think growers need to focus on is regional successes and use the same labs to determine what working in your area..............I believe that will give a clearer picture than chasing the soil of the heaviest pumpkin in the world...............MB
