Re: crazy weather

Hi Paul,
I'm a meteorologist and live in southern NH. The weather east of the Missippi has been, as you know, unseasonably warm. High temperature records were set all over the place in the east today. This is due to the jet stream pattern which shows no real change for the next 10-14 days with only minor intrusions of cold air (one this weekend) and that only occasionally. Some of the long term forecasters are looking for an overall cold & snowy winter in the northeast, but, so far there is no sign of it. Three times out of four, the weather pattern set up in October & November persists thru the winter. But the 1/4 of the time this rule isn't followed is always lurking in the wings. Best bet is to keep preparing for next summer. I'm a real snow lover, but this additional time to prepare is wonderful for me----a first time grower 2 B. Bernie

Subject: crazy weather

Has anyone else had a crazy month so far. Here in Ohio we had temps over 60 degrees the last  3 days & it went to 73 today. I've had to restrain myself from going out back & putting something in the ground. On the positive side , the leaves & manure-straw mixture I put down has already half decomposed due to the warm fall.
Oh well It's supposed to snow & be in the 20's Saturday night, all good things must  come to a end..............Paul
